Derby has a variety of shopping experiences to suit all, from the new retails parks with their large stores, to the quaint cobbled streets of sadler gate.

The city Centre has all the high street big names, Debenhams, HMV, TK Maxx, Marks and Spencer, JJB Sports, Woolworths, Argos, Wilkinsons, Evans, Dorothy Perkins, Topshop, Next, Disney Store, MacDonalds, Burger King, KFC, a selections of Coffee shops, tea rooms, pubs, bars and restaurants.

Sadler Gate

This pedestrianised narrow street is extremely popular with shoppers in Derby.

Sadler Gate links the Market Place and Irongate with Bold Lane and The Strand. It is the fashionable place to be seen and to shop, with many avant-garde shops, clubs and eating houses.

The Georgian facades of Sadler gate lend an air of sophistication to the street’s cafés, pubs and restaurants, while its fascinating mix of independent shops sell everything from boutique fashion, flowers, gifts and homeware to cameras, curtains and CDs!

The Guild Hall Market

The Market Hall has four areas, Balcony, Poultry Market, Fish Market / Lock-up Yard and the Market Hall Shops.Shop in comfort protected from the elements, with cafés where you can rest your feet, a flea market to explore and a warm welcome from all the traders.

A farmers' market is held in Market Place on the third Thursday of every month and the section between Albion Street and the bus station is also a vibrant market area where stallholders peddle individual, often handmade wares.

Irongate

Irongate is a delightful reminder of past times. Irongate is home to Derby’ unique and prestigious Bennett’s Department Store. Bennetts was established in 1734 as an ironmongers and hardware store.

Eagle Centre

The Eagle Centre is an all-weather shopping mall, located off St Peter's Street and divided in two by Albion Street. The section nearest St Peter's Street has all the big names (Boots, BHS, River Island) and a number of high-street jewelers. The Eagle Centre is open 7 days a week. The Eagle Centre Market boasts of being the UK's largest indoor market with over 130 stalls. Much new building work is being carried out in the city centre with several big projects planned. The new shopping precinct is well on the way. The £300 million redevelopment scheme will house over 100 new shops, a food court that will be capable of seating 800 people and an additional 2,000 parking spaces.

Retail Parks

The Wyvern – Situated just off the A52 next to Pride Park is home to Costco (wholesalers), Currys, Toys R Us, Halfords, Homebase, Mothercare, Sainsburys, MacDonalds, Burger King and Pizza Hut.

Kingsway – Just off the A38 B&Q, Currys, Comet, Halfords, Next, Boots, Harveys, Marks and Spencer, Laura Ashley, SCS and The Kings Highway Public House and Restaurant.

Meteor Centre – Located off Mansfield Road - MFI, DFS, Bensons Beds, Morrisons, PC World, Moben Kitchens, MacDonalds, Focus, Deep Pan Pizza, Burger King, it also has an Odeon Cinema and The Master Locksmith Public House.
